Reconnecting with the Sacred

Reconnecting with the Sacred
  • Duration: 5 Days

JULY 15-19, 2023

Tuscany, Italy

For thousands of years, our ancestors have seen value in retreating from our ordinary routines and the humdrum of everyday life to be closer to nature, where we can reconnect to the sacred that is within us and all around us. For them, the sacred is what sustains life. It is what gives human beings meaning and a sense of belonging to something greater. To this extent, we understand that yoga, meditation, and ceremony were all means that facilitated one’s connection to the sacred and affirmed the web of interdependence that we share with the world. As Chief Seattle, an iconic figure in the Native American tradition, said:

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.”

The general view in society, especially by unconvinced rationalists, is that all this may be charming, but it is preposterous. The result we see is unambiguous: the mundane has been chosen, the profane has been chosen. We are living in a world that attempts to shift our attention to ephemeral distractions, fleeting pleasures, and essentially extract the sacred from our lives. No wonder so many of us experience anxiety and depression. No wonder we think it is OK to pollute our precious earth and objectify its resources.

This retreat is intended to nourish the memory of the sacred we have within us. In many ways, it will be a celebration of life and an opportunity to connect more deeply with ourselves and nature. You can expect a carefully designed schedule with two long practices per day (Forrest-inspired vinyasa & yin), morning meditation, breathwork, sound healing, kirtan, ceremony, and much more.

Join me for 4 nights and 5 days surrounded by spectacular views and untouched landscapes of peaceful Tuscany. Feel free to message us if you have any questions whatsoever.

Aho! With Love,
